Amtek announces six figure investment

Amtek Precision Engineers, plastic injection mould tools and precision CNC machined components manufacturer, has signed a six figure deal with ECI Software Solutions to deploy its M1 ERP software.

The investment aims to facilitate business growth and build on successful operational adaptations made during lockdown to cater for sudden changes in customer requirements.

As a result of an increase in demand for vital Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) across health and social care, combined with concerns around the security of the European supply chain, a number of UK based companies approached Amtek during the first half of lockdown.

The company now occupies a 12,000sq/ft double-level facility in Totnes, Devon, and has recently restructured and introduced a specialist software system which will help the business scale up and meet the surge in demand.

Matt Jones, director at Amtek, commented: “The implementation of ECI’s M1 software is a really exciting development for the company. We needed an ERP solution that could integrate critical business processes, scale up as our operation continued to expand and help boost our overall profitability.

“Owing to its strong reputation across the manufacturing industry, and the fact that it is designed specifically for small and medium-sized manufacturers, this solution is fundamental to our growth plans.

“We believe our core offering – caps and closures – is already beginning to bounce back, and despite having only recently implemented the software, we can already see the benefits it’ll bring as the business expands.”

Robert Lowe, sales account manager at ECI, added: “Having been in discussion with the team at Amtek since 2018, I’m pleased they’re now up and running with the M1 software – especially as they’re navigating their way through a period of change due to the impact of Covid-19.

“One of the challenges we faced was how to deliver our implementation training to the required standard throughout lockdown. Luckily, the Amtek team were all able to attend virtual training sessions either in groups or one to one, and I’m confident the whole team can enjoy the benefits an ERP such as M1 can offer.”
